Lynn Woods Reservation
This our fourth Oxford and Cambridge Society hike: a short hike in the Lynn Woods Reservation, north of Boston. This will be an easier hike, more like a ramble than a hike; unlike a couple of the past ones, it won't entail any rock scrambling. It will be through woods and, if the group agrees when we meet, a little up and down on rocky surfaces, mainly at the beginning. We'll walk through pine woods and along the bank of a reservoir. For much but not all of the way, we will be on what is, effectively, ATV trails, though there will be no motorized vehicles. The distance covered by this loop walk is very roughly four miles, perhaps a little more. It should last no more than two hours.
As with our past hikes, participants should be comfortable on a brisk walk and not be subject to any infirmities that constrain their ability to go uphill on bare rock and down. Saturday, October 4, with a rain date of Sunday, October 5.
Access to our starting point is only by car. There are no reasonable options for reaching the starting point by public transportation.
Participation is limited to ten. When you sign up, you will be sent suggestions for dress, what to bring, and directions to our starting point. The hike will be led by Adam Apt.
There is no charge for this event, but pre-registration is required, no later than Friday, October 3.
