Tour of Old North Church

Saturday, November 8, 2025, 3:00pm

“One if by land, and two if by sea!” With two lanterns shining from its steeple on April 18, 1775, Old North Church lit the way for the American Revolution. Come and explore 300 years of history at Boston’s oldest church building.

The afternoon includes an immersive audio tour, visit to the crypt, and guided tour of the famous Bell Tower.

We will begin the afternoon with an immersive audio tour of Old North, when you will learn 35 minutes of the church’s secrets and stories.

It weaves together the story of Paul Revere’s famous lantern signal with recent research into the lives of Old North’s free and enslaved Indigenous and Black congregants.

Next, we will explore the bell ringing chamber: a unique behind-the-scenes area. We will learn about Old North’s famous bells, notable bell ringers (including Paul Revere), and the art of change ringing.

Lastly, we will tour the famous crypt, where Boston’s wealthiest families paid to be buried closest to the altar, believing they would arrive more quickly in heaven than those buried farther away!

Reservation for the event is required and tickets cost $35 per person to cover the cost of the Old North tour. Book your tickets online here. Registration closes on November 1st.
